Intercession of Christ
The intercession of Christ is His continuing priestly work on behalf of His people. Having offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice, He appears before the Father as their advocate and mediator.
Biblical Usage
Christ interceded for his people during his earthly ministry and now exercises this function in heaven. Scripture presents him as appearing before God for believers, as their advocate and faithful high priest, through whom they have access to the Father and receive the benefits of the everlasting covenant.
