Iconium

Iconium was a city of Asia Minor visited by Paul and Barnabas. A church was established there despite opposition, and Paul later strengthened the believers; the city is identified with modern Konya.
Biblical Usage
Paul and Barnabas visited Iconium during the first missionary journey and were opposed there by Jews. After leaving for Lystra, they returned to encourage the church. Paul also visited the region on a later journey, and his sufferings at Iconium are mentioned in 2 Timothy.
