Gezer
Gezer was an important ancient Canaanite city on the western border of Ephraim. It was assigned to the Levites, remained occupied by Canaanites for a time, and was later rebuilt by Solomon.
Biblical Usage
Joshua killed the king of Gezer when he came to aid Lachish. David pursued the Philistines to Gezer, and Solomon rebuilt the city after Pharaoh captured and burned it and gave it to Solomon as part of his daughter’s dowry.
