Gerizim
Mount Gerizim is a mountain near Shechem in Samaria, opposite Mount Ebal. Blessings were proclaimed there when Israel entered Canaan, and it later became the site of the Samaritan temple.
Biblical Usage
The tribes gathered on Gerizim responded to the blessings pronounced when Joshua read the law. The mountain was later connected with the Samaritan temple and is the mountain mentioned by the woman of Sychar in her discussion with Jesus.
