GENNESARET, LAND OF
The land of Gennesaret was a fertile plain on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. Its rich soil, abundant water, and productive orchards made it one of the most fruitful districts of Galilee.
Biblical Usage
Jesus and His disciples came to the land of Gennesaret after crossing the sea. The district is mentioned in the Gospel accounts of His ministry.
