GATE, EAST
The East Gate was the principal eastern entrance to the tabernacle and later associated with temple courts. Ezekiel’s vision connects it with the departure and return of the Lord’s glory.
Biblical Usage
Ezekiel’s vision identifies the eastern gate as the way by which the glory of the Lord departed from the city and returned to the temple. The eastern gate of the tabernacle court was also the entrance used by the congregation.
