GAIN
Gain means profit, advantage, proceeds, or benefit, whether material or spiritual. Scripture warns against dishonest gain and teaches that godliness, knowing Christ, and winning others are true and lasting gain.
Biblical Usage
The Bible warns against unjust gain and teaches that the soul is worth more than the world. Paul counted former privileges as loss compared with knowing Christ, while godliness is described as true and abiding gain. Gain may also mean winning a sinning brother or bringing people to Christ.
