Flute
A pipe-like musical instrument, probably made from reeds or other materials. Flutes were used in public celebrations and were played by mourners at the death of a ruler’s daughter.
Biblical Usage
Flutes were played in public celebrations and in mourning. They were included among the instruments used at the worship of Nebuchadnezzar’s image, and flute-players were present at the mourning for a ruler’s daughter.
