Fitches
Agriculture & Daily Life • Old Testament
Fitches refers chiefly to black cumin, an aromatic seed used as a condiment in Palestine. In another passage the same English rendering is an error for spelt, a grain.
Biblical Usage
The black cumin passage concerns the cultivation and threshing of a seed crop. The occurrence in Ezekiel should be understood as spelt rather than fitches.
