FATHER, GOD THE
God the Father is the first Person of the Trinity, eternally related to the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is Creator and moral Judge, and receives believers as His children through grace and redemption.
Biblical Usage
God is Father to the chosen nation, to the king as its representative, and to believers by grace. Through redemption believers receive sonship and adoption. In the gospel, divine Fatherhood is revealed in relation to the eternal Son and to those brought near by grace.
