FAINT
To become physically exhausted, weak, or discouraged in spirit. Scripture uses the word for weariness from hunger, thirst, labor, grief, fear, and spiritual discouragement.
Biblical Usage
Biblical examples include Esau’s hunger, Israel’s weariness, David’s exhausted forces, Daniel’s weakness, and people fainting under hunger or hardship. The New Testament also uses faintness figuratively for discouragement and warns believers not to grow weary in doing good.
