Ezion-geber
Ezion-geber was an ancient harbor near Elath at the northern end of the Gulf of Aqabah. Solomon built ships there for trade with Ophir, and Jehoshaphat’s fleet was later wrecked there.
Biblical Usage
Ezion-geber is mentioned during Israel’s journeys and in connection with the maritime enterprises of Solomon and Jehoshaphat.
