EVIL
Evil in Scripture includes moral wrongdoing for which people are accountable and physical suffering or calamity. God is not the author of moral evil, while His judgments may expose and punish sin.
Biblical Usage
The Bible commands people to turn from evil, shows that wrongdoing begins in the heart, and teaches that God offers pardon to those who repent. Physical evils may result from sin, accident, mismanagement, unknown causes, or divine chastisement, and may serve as warnings or correction.
