Esther, Book of
The Book of Esther records how God providentially preserved the Jews in Persia through Esther and Mordecai. It explains the origin of the feast of Purim, although the Hebrew book does not explicitly use the name of God.
Biblical Usage
The book displays God’s providential government, although the name of God does not occur in the Hebrew book. It records the preservation of the Jewish people from destruction and their subsequent honor and security.
