Esther was a Jewish woman who became queen of Persia and courageously helped save her people from Haman’s plot to destroy them. She was raised by Mordecai, and her Hebrew name was Hadassah.
Biblical Usage
Esther is presented as a woman of courage, prudence, faith, self-control, and self-sacrifice. She risked approaching the king, exposed Haman’s plot, and became an instrument through whom the Jewish people were delivered.
