Elisha
Elisha was the prophet who served as Elijah’s attendant and successor. His ministry included numerous miracles, such as healing Naaman, providing for the needy, raising the dead, and guiding Israel during national crises.
Biblical Usage
Elisha was called while plowing and received Elijah’s mantle as a sign of succession. He requested and received a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. Scripture records his healing of the spring at Jericho, multiplication of oil and food, raising of the Shunammite’s son, healing of Naaman, guidance during war and famine, and other signs performed in the name of God.
