Eliezer was the name of several biblical men, most notably Abraham’s trusted household servant and the son of Moses. Other Eliezers included a priest, a prophet, a ruler under David, and an ancestor of Jesus.
Biblical Usage
Abraham’s Eliezer was a trusted household servant and likely the steward sent to seek Isaac’s wife. Moses named his second son Eliezer because God had helped him. Other bearers served with the ark, under David, as prophets, priests, Levites, or messengers.
