ELDAD AND MODAD, BOOK OF
The Book of Eldad and Modad was a lost work associated with the two elders who prophesied in Israel’s camp during Moses’ time. Later Jewish and Christian writers preserved traditions about its contents.
Biblical Usage
Eldad and Modad remained in the camp while the other elders went to the tabernacle, and they prophesied there. The nature of their prophecy is not recorded in Numbers. The book associated with them speaks of the Lord’s nearness to those who return to him.
