Ear
Christian Life • Both
The ear is the physical organ of hearing and is often used figuratively for attention and spiritual understanding. To hear God means to receive His word obediently, while hardened or uncircumcised ears picture resistance to truth.
Biblical Usage
To open or uncover the ear means to reveal important information. Heavy or uncircumcised ears signify inattentiveness and disobedience, while “ears to hear” calls for spiritual response. God’s ears signify His ability to hear prayer, though He may refuse to hear persistent rebellion.
