DUTY
Duty is something owed or required. Scripture uses the term for temple service, moral obligations, marital responsibilities, and what one person owes another.
Biblical Usage
Duty includes the performance of temple praise and sacrifice, giving good to those to whom it is due, and rendering a wife her due. Jesus speaks of servants doing what it was their duty to do, and Paul says Gentile believers owe material ministry to Jewish Christians.
