Dor was an ancient Canaanite coastal city later allotted to Manasseh. Solomon made it one of his administrative districts, and its people supplied provisions for the royal court.
Biblical Usage
Dor’s ruler joined Jabin against Joshua. Although the original inhabitants were not expelled, they became tributary, and Solomon stationed one of his purveyors there to supply the royal household.
