Divination

Sin & Judgment • Both
Divination is the attempt to obtain hidden knowledge, especially about the future, through omens, magic, spirits, or ritual practices. Scripture generally condemns such practices and directs God’s people to seek His revealed will instead.
Biblical Usage
Scripture generally condemns divination, necromancy, magic, and related practices, contrasting them with revelation from God through prophets and appointed means. The Bible also records God’s use of lots, dreams, the Urim and Thummim, and direct communication to disclose His will.
