DISALLOW

Doctrine & Theology • Both
To disallow means either to oppose or refuse permission, or to reject something as unacceptable. The New Testament uses the word especially of Christ being rejected.
Biblical Usage
The Old Testament use may mean not to permit, as in regulations concerning a vow. In 1 Peter 2:4,7, Christ is described in the King James Version as disallowed, while the Revised Version renders the word “rejected.”
