Didymus
Didymus is the Greek word for “twin” and was the surname or designation of the apostle Thomas in John’s Gospel. It identifies the same disciple elsewhere called Thomas.

John uses Didymus to identify Thomas in passages concerning the disciples and the risen Christ. It therefore refers to the same apostle elsewhere called Thomas.
