DELUGE OF NOAH
The Deluge of Noah was God’s great judgment upon the wickedness of the ancient world, from which Noah, his family, and representatives of the animals were preserved in the ark. After the waters subsided, the earth was repopulated through Noah’s family.
Biblical Usage
The account in Genesis 6–8 presents the flood as divine judgment and Noah’s preservation as connected with his righteousness. Noah was warned beforehand and is described as a preacher of righteousness while the ark was being prepared. The New Testament also refers to the event and to Noah’s preservation.
