DELOS
Delos was an island in the Aegean Sea and an important ancient religious and commercial center. It contained temples and a major port, and Rome sent letters there concerning Jewish privileges.
Biblical Usage
Delos is connected with Jewish privileges in the period before the New Testament. Rome sent letters there on behalf of the Jews, and a decree at Delos confirmed Jewish exemption from military service.
