Dedan was the name of two men in the genealogies: a son of Raamah and a son of Jokshan, Abraham’s son by Keturah. Their descendants became pastoral or trading peoples associated with Arabia and neighboring regions.
Biblical Usage
The descendants of Dedan are mentioned in Isaiah and Ezekiel and are associated with the peoples descended from Raamah’s son. Jokshan’s son Dedan is listed in the genealogy of Abraham through Keturah.
