Death

Death & Afterlife • Both
Death is the termination of bodily life and, in Scripture, the consequence of sin. The Bible also speaks of spiritual death, the second death of final judgment, and Christ’s victory over death through His resurrection.
Biblical Usage
Death is presented as connected with sin, universal and appointed once for each person. Spiritual death is the loss of life under the power of sin, while the second death is the everlasting judgment of the wicked. Christ’s death removes death’s sting for His followers, and His resurrection brings life and immortality to light.
