DEAF
Deaf refers physically to inability to hear, but Scripture also uses it figuratively for refusing or being unable to receive God’s message. God’s power can open deaf ears and bring understanding.
Biblical Usage
Scripture presents God as able to open deaf ears and bring the deaf to receive divine mercy. It forbids cursing the deaf, and the deaf condition may also be associated with divine judgment or evil spirits.
