CORNER-STONE
A corner-stone is an important foundation or joining stone in a building. Scripture uses it figuratively for the Messiah: Jesus Christ is the chosen stone on whom God’s people are established and united.
Biblical Usage
Scripture uses the corner-stone figuratively of the Messiah. Passages concerning the rejected stone are applied to Jesus Christ, and the image is connected with the foundation and unity of God’s people. The ruler in the Messianic age is also represented by a corner-stone.
