Corinth
Corinth was a wealthy and commercially important city of Greece on the isthmus between northern and southern Greece. Paul founded a Christian church there and stayed about eighteen months (Acts 18:1–18).
Biblical Usage
Paul preached in Corinth and founded a church there, remaining about eighteen months during his first visit. The church consisted chiefly of Gentiles, though Jews were also present. Paul later visited Corinth again, and his letters to the Corinthians address the church’s divisions and conduct.
