Consecration
Consecration is the setting apart of a person, possession, or offering for God’s worship and service. Israel’s firstborn, the Levites, and various offerings were consecrated under the law; Christians are called God’s holy people.
Biblical Usage
Abraham’s race and Levi’s tribe were consecrated, and the firstborn of people and animals belonged to God. Israelites could devote fields, cattle, and spoils of war. Christians are regarded as consecrated to the Lord as His holy people.
