COMPREHEND
To comprehend can mean to understand mentally or spiritually, or to contain and measure. Scripture also uses it for grasping the breadth of God’s love and for summing up the law in love for one’s neighbor.
Biblical Usage
Human beings cannot fully comprehend all God’s mighty works. Believers are called to apprehend the measureless love of God, while darkness does not apprehend the revelation made in Christ. Love sums up the law toward one’s neighbor.
