Coffer
The coffer was a small box placed beside the ark by the Philistines. It held their golden mice and other objects sent as a trespass offering when the ark was returned (1 Samuel 6:8–15).
Biblical Usage
The Philistines placed the golden objects in the coffer when returning the ark. The coffer is mentioned in the account of the ark’s return in 1 Samuel 6.
