The cedar was a tall, durable, fragrant tree, especially associated with Lebanon. Its wood was prized for temples, palaces, ships, and carved work, and it symbolized strength and majesty.
Biblical Usage
Cedars are called the glory of Lebanon and symbolize height, strength, majesty, and royal supremacy. The righteous are compared to a flourishing cedar. Cedar wood was also used in ritual cleansing and in the construction of the temple and royal buildings.
