BREASTPLATE OF THE HIGH PRIEST
The sacred pouch worn over the high priest's heart, containing twelve precious stones representing Israel's tribes. It was fastened to the ephod and associated with the Urim and Thummim for priestly judgment and decision.
Biblical Usage
The high priest wore it over his heart in the holy place as a memorial before Yahweh, bearing the tribes before God. Called the “pouch of judgment” or decision, it was associated with the Urim and Thummim and priestly oracles.
