Bottle
A bottle in biblical times was commonly a container made from an animal skin, used for water, milk, wine, or oil; earthen vessels were also used. Jesus used old and new wineskins to illustrate the incompatibility of old forms with the newness of His teaching.
Biblical Usage
Jesus used old and new wineskins to illustrate that new wine cannot safely be placed in old, dried skins. Scripture also calls the clouds bottles of heaven and uses a bottle in smoke as an image of sorrow or affliction.
