Beersheba, also called Beer-sheba, was a southern city associated with Abraham, Isaac, and the patriarchal wells. It marked the southern boundary of the land in the phrase “from Dan to Beersheba.”
Biblical Usage
In the expression “from Dan even unto Beersheba,” Beer-sheba represents the southern boundary of Canaan, with Dan representing the northern boundary.
