Bee
Bees were common in Palestine, where wild honey was found in rocks, trees, and other places. Scripture uses their swarming and stinging as images of abundance, danger, and attacking enemies.
Biblical Usage
Samson found a swarm and honey in the dried carcass of a lion. Scripture compares pursuing enemies and surrounding attackers to bees, while Isaiah personifies the bee as an instrument of chastisement from Assyria.
