BECAUSE
“Because” is an English connective used to express a reason or purpose. In Matthew 20:31, the underlying expression is rendered in some versions as “that,” introducing what the multitude wanted the blind men to do.
Biblical Usage
In Matthew’s account, the multitude rebuked the blind men because, or so that, they should keep silent. The term introduces the purpose or intended result of the rebuke.
