Beast
Beast generally denotes an animal, especially a four-footed creature or beast of burden. Scripture also uses the term figuratively for kingdoms, wicked people, hostile multitudes, and symbolic creatures in prophecy.
Biblical Usage
The Mosaic law regulated the treatment, rest, separation, and use of beasts. Scripture also uses beast figuratively for an infuriated multitude and for wicked people. Daniel’s four beasts represent four kingdoms or kings, and the New Testament uses beast for symbolic and wild creatures.
