BASE
A base is a foundation, pedestal, or supporting structure, especially those used for the lavers, altar, and candlestick in the tabernacle and temple. Figuratively, “base” may describe what is low, humble, worthless, or of low social standing.
Biblical Usage
Biblical references use base for the supports of temple lavers, the tabernacle laver, the candlestick, and the altar. In figurative usage it describes humble or lowly people, low social standing, self-humiliation, and persons of no account or wicked character.
