Baruch was Jeremiah’s faithful secretary and companion who wrote, read, and preserved the prophet’s messages. Several other men named Baruch are also mentioned after the exile.
Biblical Usage
Baruch preserved and proclaimed Jeremiah’s messages concerning Babylon and the captivity. He also kept the deed for Jeremiah’s purchased field and shared the prophet’s imprisonment and later removal to Egypt.
