Baasha
Baasha was the third king of the northern kingdom of Israel. He seized the throne, fought against Judah, and brought judgment on his dynasty because of his idolatry.
Biblical Usage
Baasha conspired against Nadab, killed him and his family, and fought Asa of Judah. He began fortifying Ramah but was stopped through Asa’s alliance with Ben-hadad of Damascus. Because of his idolatry, the prophet Jehu announced judgment on his house.
