Awa was an Assyrian province whose inhabitants were transferred by Shalmaneser to cities in Samaria after the Israelites were exiled. It is probably the same region called Ivva elsewhere.
Biblical Usage
Awa is mentioned in the account of Assyria’s resettlement of Samaria after the exile of the children of Israel.
