ASSIGN
To assign means to give, apportion, designate, or station someone in a particular place or responsibility. Scripture uses it both for setting apart cities of refuge and for placing Uriah in a dangerous position in battle.
Biblical Usage
The term describes Moses setting apart Bezer as a city of refuge and Joab placing Uriah in a position of mortal danger during battle.
