ARK OF BULRUSHES
The ark of bulrushes was a small floating vessel made from papyrus and sealed with bitumen and pitch. Moses’ mother placed him in it among the reeds of the Nile to preserve his life from Pharaoh’s command.
Biblical Usage
Moses’ mother placed him in this vessel when he was three months old and set it among the sedge along the Nile, at a place where the royal ladies were likely to find him.
