Anathema
Anathema refers to something devoted or set apart, especially for destruction or condemnation. In the New Testament it expresses a solemn curse or exclusion from fellowship with Christ for those who reject the truth.
Biblical Usage
The term is used of vows, curses, false worship, and opposition to Christ. Paul uses it for those who preach another gospel, for denial that Jesus is Lord, and for exclusion from fellowship with Christ. It also appears in strong expressions of personal feeling and condemnation.
