Ananias
Ananias was the name of a Jerusalem believer who lied about the proceeds of a sale and died under divine judgment, a disciple at Damascus who helped Paul, and the high priest who presided over Paul’s hearing.
Biblical Usage
The Jerusalem Ananias and Sapphira were judged for falsely claiming to have given all the proceeds of their property. The Damascus disciple instructed Paul, while the high priest questioned and ordered Paul struck before his appearance before the council.
