In Acts 26:28, the phrase occurs during Agrippa’s response to Paul’s earnest speech about becoming a Christian. The same expression appears in Ephesians 3:3, where it means “a little while ago.” Paul’s reply in Acts takes up the expression and answers with the contrast of “both small and great.”
